Ian Mac chats to John Devlin from Ascensos.
Ascensos, the contact centre management specialist, which opened a customer service centre on the Isle of Wight last year, has joined forces with the 4Ps, a life changing community programme for young people.
The partnership will see Ascensos support the 4Ps programme by offering work placements at its contact centre in Cowes, providing volunteer support and assisting with project funding.
The 4Ps is a not for profit radio course designed to help young people build their confidence and communication skills using radio as a form of therapy and teaching the 4 main ingredients of radio – presenting, production, promoting and podcasting.
The 4Ps Training School, based at Vectis Radio on the Isle of Wight, provides courses for children and young adults aged between 11 and 19, and up to age 25 with additional needs. Young people from Isle of Wight College and pupils from St. George’s School, in Newport, a special school for young people with severe and complex needs, are regular attendees at the 4Ps.
John Devlin, CEO of Ascensos, said:
“The 4Ps is a wonderful project which is making a real difference to young people on the Isle of Wight, providing them with a great opportunity to build confidence and improve on their communication skills.
