The Vectis Radio Experience

Vectis Radio was launched by Ian Mac as an Internet only radio station in January 2010

In August 2014, the station established the 4P’s training school (otherwise known as The 4P’s Project) which runs as part of the Isle of Wight Council’s Youth Offer

Over 100 students have since completed the course which has been successful in helping many young people improve their confidence and communication through radio

Since going FM in 2017 the station has been on a real rollercoaster ride

Picking up multiple awards including in 2020 when certain members of the team were awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service (which is the equivalent of an MBE) and in 2023 the station won Community Station of Year at The Audio and Radio Industry Awards (The ARIAS are the Oscars of UK radio and audio)

However the ongoing costs of keeping a community radio station running during these difficult times is a challenge

So we are holding a fundraiser – The Vectis Radio Experience (Sponsored by Go Internet)

Come and listen to 4 (yes 4) award winning presenters play DJ sets

These DJ sets will be based on the music that is played during their specialist shows
