Public Transport

Best to always check in with your chosen Public Transport if you are going on an important journey.

The main road between Newport and Cowes is one way until April diversions are well signposted and heading toward  Cowes takes you through Forest Road Whitehouse Road, Rose Hill Road and Pallance Road. Travelling from Cowes to Newport use the normal route.

A one-way system will be in place for traffic travelling eastbound on Elenors Grove until the end of March. Light vehicles will be diverted through Newport to Ryde via The Downs Road and Ashey Road. HGV’s will be diverted through Newport to Ryde via the A3056 and A3055. Travelling from Ryde to Newport use the normal route.

Road closures

In Gurnard Rew Street from Pallance Road to Harness Lane. Until 13th March

In Wroxall St John's Road from Worsley Drive to Grove Road. Until 16:00 on 30th April.

In Ventnor Southgrove Road from Macrocarpa Road to Grove Road. Until 5th February 2027.

Temporary Lights and Diversions

In Whippingham on Beatrice Avenue both ways between Crossways Road (Whippingham) and Cadets Walk (East Cowes). Until 27th March.

In Lake on Sandown Road both ways at A3056 Newport Road. Until 16:00 on 27th March.

In Bembridge from Sandown Road both ways from Bembridge to Bembridge. By Bembridge Airport. Until 27th March.

In Chale Green from Appleford Road and East View Lane. Until 17th March.

In Lake on Sandown Road at A3056 Newport Road. Until on 27th March.

In Ningwood Hill Bouldnor on Ningwood Hill both ways at Cranmore Avenue. Until 0:00 on 30th March.

There are plenty of other roadworks that are put in from time to time with no notice. Please take care.
