It’s back again - ‘Under the Bed Sale IOW’ returns for another packed year with over 50 artists selling their work by invitation at the main gallery at Quay Arts, Newport.  The works for sale are all from exhibited artists currently working on the Island, many of whom have exhibited nationally and internationally, included amongst them are several recipients of prestigious awards and national membership bodies. This sale gives artists an opportunity to pull out artworks from storage and sell them off at reduced prices to help clear space in their studios and is the perfect, affordable opportunity for people to start or continue their art collections.

Prices will range from £10 to £400 so the buying art lover has a chance to purchase original artwork at a great, affordable price. There will be painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics, plus experiments, slight seconds, sketchbook works, drawings, collage, cards, and objects that defy description – there’s something for everyone, all on show salon style and all for immediate sale. It’s a win, win for all – artists have an opportunity to move work on and the new owners get to walk away with a unique, original piece of artwork on the day. ‘Under the Bed Sale IOW’ is a not-for-profit event run by, and directly supporting, exhibiting artists. Previous years have created a real buzz and helped support creative practitioners on the Island and this year will be no exception.

Practicing artists, Fran Farrar, Fiona Schindler, Jill Wilkinson and Karen Mead are excited to be running the sale again this year. “The vibrancy and energy around Under the Bed Sale is fantastic – and everyone gains from the sale. If previous sales are anything to go by, we anticipate a very busy event again, so get there early to find that unique piece” said Fran Farrar one of the organising artists, “We are thrilled to be holding the sale at the wonderful West Gallery at Quay Arts again - as the main arts venue on the Island it feels a great place to be sharing work for sale at accessible prices”.

Under the Bed Sale IOW will be open to the public 9am – 5pm daily at Quay Arts, Sea Street, Newport from Wednesday 11^th – Monday 16^th February 2026. Entrance is free and of course the wonderful Quay Arts Café will be open for refreshments. There’s always a gap on your wall that might need filling!
