He oversaw the start of Eurostar (including their proposed services to the north and Scotland - which never materialised, and Phil explains why). He's played major roles in Railtrack and NetworkRail, and is now assisting with the transition to Great British Railways. He's also a rail journalist, speaker, author and (of course)...a steam train driver!
