More Information (Vectis Radio is not responsible for external websites)

East Cowes Shanty are celebrating the release of their debut album Ales & Sails with a special appearance at Quay Folk Club, Quay Arts, Newport.

The five-piece Isle of Wight shanty group will be performing songs from the new album, including traditional sea shanties, maritime folk songs and locally inspired material.

Recorded at Hungry Hound Productions on the Isle of Wight with engineer Stuey Heath, Ales & Sails captures the sound the group has developed through years of performing together — five mates, strong voices, big choruses and plenty of audience participation.

The album includes This Is My Island, East Cowes Shanty’s Isle of Wight adaptation of Harry Glasson’s Cornwall My Home, recorded with his permission.

Come along, join in with the choruses and help us celebrate the launch of our first album.
